The Nissan / Datsun Skyline or C110 series was a direct follow up to the earlier C10 series Skyline affectionately known as "Hakosuka" or Box Skyline. In export markets primarily the UK and Australia the vehicle was known as Datsun 240K and was available in both Sedan, Coupe and a very rare seldom seen Wagon version.
The Mazda R100 was 1 of the first cars to be powered by the Mazda Rotary Engine. Named the R100 after its engine displacement of only 1000CC the Mazda R100 was fitted with the 10A engine. Produced from 1968 - 1973 the R100 was known in the Japanese Domestic Market as the Familia. The home market version like many other vehicles had unique features not found on export market vehicles.
In 1964 Honda introduced the S600 a small, stylish and unique sports car named after its engine displacement of 606cc. Previously Honda had been focusing on motorcycles and the S600 had several unique features carried over from this legacy. The engine used a unique roller bearing set up as oppose to crank bearings, giving it smooth operating and capable of a monsterous 9000rpm. The drivetrain was also unqiue with a chain drive set up.
Launched in 1968 and available new until 1973 the US market Datsun 510 as was known in the Australian market as a Datsun 1600 and in Japan it was called a Bluebird. The chassis was usually prefixed with P510 and the car was available in a range of styles including a 2 door version sold in the US, a 4 door version sold in Australia and a 2 door fastback version sold only in Japan. Each market featured its own unique set of tail light configurations and front grille treatments.
The B210 Datsun 120Y was a follow up to the successful B110 series and Sunny range of Datsun's. In production from 1973 - 1977 this popular car was a big seller in many export markets outside of Japan. The B210 came in a variety of body styles including a 4-door sedan, a 2 door hard top and a 2 door coupe, a wagon or a panel van, called Runner.
The first generation Toyota Celica also known as the TA22 Celica was introduced in late 1970 as an alternative to the Toyota 2000GT. In export markets the celica was available in 3 different trim levels. The LT, ST and GT versions. The LT came with a single overhead cam engine and single carb engine known as the 2T engine. The ST version was available in twin carb format with a 2T-B engine. The GT however was available with a Twin Cam DOHC 2T-G engine a 1.6ltr fed by Twin Mikuni Side Draft Carbs and managed to produce a healthy 115HP.
The Prince Skyline GTB was released by the Prince motor company, a company that was later bought out by Nissan Motors. The vehicle featured Triple Weber Carbuerettors and had a straight 6 2.0ltr SOHC engine that produced 127HP at 5500rpm. The car was also fitted with an LSD and 5spd gearbox and 99litre gas tank as standard equipment.
Fitted with front disc brakes and finned rear drums the skyline was very well equipped for its time.
